The West Wales Badminton League returns for the 2027/28 season, building on the success of its inaugural season and continuing to create opportunities for competitive badminton across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.
Organised by Haverfordwest Badminton Club and the West Wales League Committee, the league brings players together to enjoy competitive doubles badminton in a friendly, inclusive and accessible environment.

How will it work...
The league is a doubles competition, and players enter as a pair. You will compete together, earning league points and working towards your final league position.
We are not gender-specific, meaning any combination of genders can enter. Men's, women's and mixed pairs are all welcome.
The league will consist of four scheduled events at Haverfordwest, taking place approximately every three months.
Depending on the number of entries received, pairs will be allocated to league groups based on ability, with the aim of providing competitive, enjoyable and closely matched games. The league organisers will confirm the group structure before the season begins.
Fixtures
At each event, you will play all the scheduled matches against the other pairs in your league group. Rather than arranging separate fixtures, all matches for that round will be organised around the event.
Event dates, start times and further arrangements will be published ahead of the season so that players can plan their attendance.
Results will be recorded, allowing the league standings to be updated.
Players will be responsible for arranging their own travel to Haverfordwest. Further information about event timings, court arrangements and match schedules will be provided before each round.
Please note: Players should ensure they can attend the scheduled league events, as these form the basis of the season's competition.
Shuttles
Your entry fee includes one tube of shuttles which have been approved by the League Committee - Yehlex Tournament. You can purchase additional shuttles from the committee.
Games are not permitted with a different brand or speed of shuttle.
Fees & how to pay
Entry fees for the 2027/28 season will be confirmed before entries open.
As the league moves to an event-based format, we will review the entry fee to reflect the costs of running the competition. This may include shuttlecocks, court hire, league administration, website costs and end-of-season awards.
Full details of the entry fee, payment arrangements and deadlines will be provided when registration opens.
Who can enter
The West Wales Badminton League is open to players of all abilities. There is no requirement to have a particular graded level or previous league experience.
We welcome players from badminton clubs across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and the wider West Wales area.
The league is competitive, and players are encouraged to give their best in every match while maintaining good sportsmanship and respect for their opponents.
Our aim is to provide a competition where players can challenge themselves, develop their game and enjoy regular competitive badminton in a welcoming environment.

Games are to 15 points with setting.

Results
League tables will be updated throughout the season by the committee following each event.
If pairs finish level on league points, points difference may be used to determine their final positions.
