As we head into the new year, it’s time to look back on the second month of the New West Wales Badminton League (WWBL), and what a month it has been with all fixtures in December ending in 2-0 victories!
While there weren’t as many games played this month, we appreciate those teams who managed to fit their fixtures in. Perhaps our players just enjoy the festive season a little too much here in West Wales—who can blame them, right? 🎄😉
Anyway, it is something worth noting, and we’ll be taking it into consideration when planning fixtures for next season.
Early Pace Setters: Useless and Clueless
The league table is really starting to take shape now, and there are a few standout teams that are showing early dominance. Useless and Clueless (Trevor & Alan) have been on fire, winning all four of their opening matches to top the table. Hot on their heels are Winging It (Luke & Paul), with a perfect record of three wins from three.
Excitingly, these two teams are set to face each other in January, a clash that is bound to bring some high-quality badminton to the league! Don’t miss it—it’s one to watch!
Badtastic Pair Make Their Mark
A special shoutout goes to Badtastic Pair—Dan and Becky—who earned their first 2-0 win this month. They were also the only team to register an away win, showing that they’ve got the grit and determination to succeed. Well done to you both!
Encouragement for the Month Ahead
Thank you to everyone who has participated so far and made the league a success. We’re excited to see where things go in the second half of the season and hope to see even more games played in January. As always, we encourage teams to push through any scheduling challenges and try to fit in those remaining fixtures.
With more action on the horizon, January promises to be another exciting month. Let’s keep up the momentum, and we look forward to seeing all the amazing badminton matches to come!
Happy New Year, and let’s make 2025 even better for the West Wales Badminton League!
